Billing and fees

Is there a fee for my consultation?

In most cases, yes. This is a private consulting room so payment is taken on the day of your visit. Please read the information below about Medicare, DVA, Private Health, Pensioners, and Workcover.

Payment options

Cash, direct deposit, EFTPOS, Visa or Mastercard.

Medicare claims

You will be able to claim back part of your payment from Medicare We can help you to obtain your Medicare Rebate by submitting your claim online on the day of your consultation.

Pensioners

A discount will be given to pensioners over the age of 65 years and patients with a disability pension. You will need to show us a valid pension card.

Department of Veteran's Affairs (DVA)

No payment is required at your visit. We will bill the Department of Veteran's Affairs.

Workcover

No payment is required provided you have a letter of approval for your payment from your case manager.

Private Health Insurance

Private health insurance does not cover out-of-hospital medical consultations.

Not sure about what fees you need to pay?

We will inform you of all fees you are likely to incur for your treatment – if you’re unsure, check with the receptionists before your consultation.

What are my other options if I can’t afford the fees?

You can visit the surgeons at one of the public hospital outpatient department that they are affiliated with for no out-of-pocket payment. Call the hospital directly to make your appointment. Note: Generally you will need to expect a longer waiting time for an appointment.
